Get a second opinion - your own!
Two-Day Workshop in Dietary Healing and Detoxification
This two-day intensive training program, open to both professionals and the public, is designed to teach you a complete set of steps which will empower you to interpret your own case, define an appropriate treatment program, and allow you to self-manage and monitor your progress. Kathryn has had wide experience and success in the treatment of patients suffering from degenerative illnesses such as cancer, inflammatory and auto-immune disease, chronic fatigue, and digestive disorders - using the dietary healing protocol. These are long-term programs as healing and subsequent cure are based on the renovation of body tissues and cells. Rebuilding of healthy tissue is diet and not product dependent, and when you create the right conditions using dietary healing principles, the disease process will reverse and the body will heal.
During the practical sessions you will examine your own case (essential if you are to manage your healing), gain practical self-management skills and detoxification techniques and learn how to erect your own dietary plan. As the group will be fairly small you will also have an opportunity to discuss things directly with Kathryn.
Day One
Morning Session
Biological basis of the therapy:
The high potassium/alkaline diet – their synergistic effect on healing
Dietary restriction of salt, fat and protein – their synergistic effect on rapid reversal of the tissue damage syndrome.
Increasing oxidation and free energy
Enhancing the immune profile through protein and calorie restriction
Assessing Your Constitution and Digestive Efficiency (The Earth Element)
Delegates will discover how assess their digestive efficiency and evaluate specific symptoms within a comprehensive framework which embraces the interpretive principles of Chinese Medicine. Case study examples will be used throughout.
Afternoon Session
Vegetable juicing – preparation, types of juice, equipment
The Diet – allowed foods, prohibited foods, food preparation and cooking techniques, cooked and raw foods, specific requirements and practical application of the diet
Dietary methods of restoring the digestion and alleviating the burden on the liver will be discussed.
Day Two
Morning Session
Assessing your Liver capacity (the Wood Element)
Delegates will learn how to assess their liver capacity and evaluate specific symptoms using the principles of Chinese interpretive analysis of symptoms that relate specifically to liver congestion and stagnation. The delegate will be able to accurately appraise their liver congestion, how long this situation has existed, the degree to which the liver is compromised and its capacity to detoxify. These factors will determine individual guidelines for the program. It is essential that detoxification occurs safely, and that the rate of toxic removal from the cells does not exceed the liver’s capacity to eliminate to the outside.
The coffee enema and liver detoxification - types of enemas, preparation, administration, and equipment.
Afternoon Session
Managing toxicity and flare-ups
This session discusses the difference between toxic, detoxification and healing reactions and the specific methods of managing each type of crisis. Fever, pain and inflammation management will also be discussed, along with non-toxic treatments to alleviate, but not suppress symptoms. The clay pack and the castor oil pack will be demonstrated, and preparation of herbal tinctures.
Case Monitoring
During this session delegates will learn how to evaluate their progress on the program, how to make appropriate adjustments and modifications to the protocol to assist healing.
Toxicity – the environmental toll
During this session we will discuss the role of environmental pollution (industrial and agricultural) on our health and fertility. We shall discover the relationship between toxicity in the food chain and the explosion of hormone-dependent cancers; between the use of pesticides and herbicides and infertility; between air pollution, free radical damage and chronic degenerative disease. This understanding is integral and will form the backbone of choices made for the shopping basket - for unless the diet is organic and unprocessed then little lasting impact will be made on health.
