Diets high in potassium (vegetables) and magnesium (whole grains, legumes) while low in sodium (salt) and the magnesium-depleters (dairy, tea, coffee, alcohol, fats and sugar) ensure a healthy cell mineral balance. The modern diet encourages potassium depletion and the cell falls into fermentation - it can no longer use oxygen efficiently. Acids, toxins, sodium and calcium will start to accumulate within the cell and we see the onset of disease. Nutritional supplementation will not reverse this situation, but the high potassium, high alkaline-forming diet changes the electrical state of the cell, which draws oxygen in and purges sodium, excess water, acids and toxins from the cell.  Now the healing process begins.
